I'm looking for a really nice 80-90's higher end steel road frame to build up as a light fast bike. Catch is it needs to be tiny. Because I'm tiny. I'm looking for a frame between 47cm -49cm. Been searching ebay and CL for ages w/ out much luck.

Thanks!

Aww...I sold a 48 cm trek 520 this time last year. Maybe it's still floating around out there!

I feel your pain. I spent years looking for a used 46cm diamond frame road bike only to end up shelling out much more than i wanted to spend for a used 42cm surly last month. good luck on your hunt. there's a 24" wheel trek racing bike floating around craigslist now but it might be too small for you. the standover looked to be around 26".

We've been looking for a frame or complete bike for my friend too. She needs a 43cm frame, and no luck so far. She has a little Fuji track bike we got from a fellow C'linker, but now the hunt is on for a .geared bike.

This looks like about a 48cm to me.

Vando,

I've got a compact  alloy GT frame that is 44cm to top of seat tube and 40cm to top of top tube.  Comes with a carbon fork, headset, and seat post.    It's baby-blue and has vertical rear dropouts and internal rear brake cable routing.  It's got all the lugs for gear cables intact.  It'd make a great geared road bike.

It's in very nice condition with very few nicks (you have to search to find them).  It wasn't ridden very much at all.

The only downsides are that there is a slight indentation from where the original builder sort of over-tightened the front derailleur clamp and the frame is missing the rear derailleur hanger (it's a $20 part.)

It's super-lightweight.  The entire frame is well under 5lbs with the fork and headset if I remember right.

I've also got a matching Alex wheelset w/ tires, and a few other parts too to help build it up.

I have a 50" frame and fork for an '86 Miyata 1200. I know it isn't quite as tiny as you are asking for, but it is a tiny frame and the smallest they made for that model. The frame is pretty light and I think it was one of the higher end Miyata's of that time. I have the original seatpost for it,too.

A seller on BikeForums' Classic and Vintage section has been trying to sell a small frame by a builder named Colin Laing.  It's 51cm--to the TOP of the top tube.  Frame is $200 which might seem a lot esp as you'd have to have it shipped, but it's super-cool and one of a kind.  Actually at that price it's a steel.  Another inch  and I'd own it.  Drop a line if interested and I'll link you to it.  Seller is a well established guy on that forum.
