The Chainlink

Unfortunately the frame I was intending to build up as a gift turned into trash after a day of trying very carefully to remove the horribly slammed seat post. I'm hoping to find a classic steel or aluminum frame for this project. No color preference, powder coating may be an option if I find it in time, but I'd love something with pretty lugs! A Raleigh would be sweet, not picky though, and not necessarily looking for anything too fancy. Would like to keep it under $150. Fork not mandatory but is helpful. Thanks!

If you are still looking, I have several road frames in your size range for about $40-$60 each. The catch is.....I'm in the far west burbs.

Two choices: If you can go down to 59cm c-t I have a well used Medici, Columbus EL, with chrome lugs and rust. Make me an offer. You get the fork, we talk about the headset and BB and parts you want. For just frame and fork w/headset $150 is enough.

Or a 1984 Trek 660, racing red (kinda orange) 24 inches or 61 cm, really nice, $250. Fork and HS included and other parts available. I know that's more than you want to spend but classic as it gets and you'll need no powder coat. Good paint.  I'm in Evanston. Just call @seven seven three seven six one seven seven seven three.

Thanks for the responses! Unfortunately the recipient was not patient enough for anything special. If only I were taller! Great offers, sorry I can't take either of you up on them.
