I've noticed that someone has marked out quite a few sections of bad pavement on the LFP with fluorescent orange spray paint.  Anyone know if the park district is planning on doing a bunch of repaving of the LFP?  If so, what's the schedule for this like?

Did they do a good job identifying the bad spots or did they skip a few that look like they should be included?

Sometimes when I see this I get the temptation to go out with a can of my own orange paint and mark out a few more of the spots they skipped...

HA!  I'm evil like that.

Judging from past years, they try and get the repaving done before Memorial Day weekend.

Just in time for the fash-mob attacks!

It looks like they got most of the bad spots and include a healthy margin around them.  It'll suck if they take a while to do the repairs since there's about 20 spots or so that have been marked out on the path between hyde park and the museum campus.

Unfortunately, it looks like they aren't doing anything north of the campus since there's a pretty bad stretch on the path where the LFP curves just north of monroe harbor where there's a cluster of about 5 or 6 bad potholes.  They're all marked but it creates a bit of a minefield.

There have been some major craters between Foster and Hollywood for quite some time. I haven't even noticed if they are marked know. They had been circled for so long with no action, I'd kind of gotten used to them. But that's no excuse.

Each spring the Park District has a small budget for repairing damaged sections of the Lakefront Trail. Because there was minimal specific damage due to bad weather this spring (e.g. wave damage), they should be able to repair more of the Trail than usual. This is probably preparations for these repairs. All repairs must be completed by Memorial Day.
