What is the least stressful way to get from Logan Sq to Hyde Park -> 55th and Woodlawn? I'm leaning toward Milwaukee -> Des Plaines -> Roosevelt -> Lakefront but if there's a better way I'm all for it.

If it's way early in the morning - Milwaukee -> Kinzie -> Dearborn -> Monroe -> Lakefront isn't too bad... but coming home that's just too busy.

Advice is most appreciated on this...

FYI, as of last week Roosevelt west of Canal was a mess thanks to construction and resurfacing, & the Roosevelt-Desplaines intersection looked especially bad.  Navigable, but not un-stressful.

Armitage is pretty chill. You could just take that, and jog down to Cortland to avoid the Elston/Asland intersection, to the lakefront.

I find Milwaukee pretty stressful these days while on a bike. Too many cars and bikes...This route bypasses the entire downtown area and gives you more time on the lakefront.

That sucks about construction on Roosevelt - that just started last week eh?

Hmm, yes Armitage is pretty chill -- I take this occasionally when it's not too windy.

This route (in google maps) is my preferred way to get down there. Diversey - Elston - Milwaukee - Desplaines - Harrison - Balbo - LFT.

It's pretty good during morning rush - lots of width on Elston, bike lanes on Mke/Desplains/Harrison.

During evening rush, I'd swap Desplaines for Jefferson and ride back up in the lane (then jog left to get back on Desplaines where Jefferson dead ends). Dearborn/Kinzie could work too, but I find it way too congested for my liking.

Thanks Julia! I hadn't considered Harrison Balbo. I'm looking forward to giving that a try. I agree - Dearborn/Kinzie is just no good (unless it's like 6.30 am).

As a not huge fan of the Lakefront, but a huge fan of riding down Drexel Boulevard, here's my route from the southern edge of Logan Square: S on California, E on Augusta, S on Wood, E on Jackson, S on Loomis, E on 31st St, S on Union, E on 33rd St, just past MLK jog just S to 33rd Pl, S on Cottage Grove, S on Drexel (jog left at Oakwood to get on Drexel, it can be confusing but once you do it it's obvious), E on 53rd St and you are just about there.
