I'm hoping to bike the lakefront path to Hyde Park today. Does anyone know what condition the path is in?

Usual winter conditions south to Oak St (clear except for the parts that never are).   They dumped a metric ton of salt on the path.

Ok thanks!

The FLYOVER!!!!  Scheduled to begin construction late 2012!  Cross your fingers and hold your breath!  If we can get this AND the Bloomingdale Trail finished I will be a happy camper.

What are "usual winter conditions"? I'm a fair weather biker so don't usually bike in the winter. I tried the trail on Monday starting from the N tip but it was way two icy/slushy and went back to the streets.

Wondering if it's pretty clear of that icey snowy stuff?

Usual winter conditions are a clear or relatively clear path (enough to be rideable) except for two spots.  The curve at oak street which usually has varying amounts of ice and the part of the path just south of fullerton where the same situation applies.

And today for the first time in months, those two spots are passable.
