I'm all for improvements that keep cyclists safer, but the bike lane on Lake Street is a mess.    Yesterday on my ride into the loop I found Lake Street west of Garfield Park where the lane starts to be a fine place to ride.   At Garfield Park though, the lack of cleaning in the bike lane made for potentially unsafe riding conditions:  riders in order to avoid the glass may ride in the lane of traffic, which is narrow due to the el support columns, and cars travel at high speed; or unsafe in that if one does ride in the bike lane they may be more likely to get a flat which for many may would be considered unsafe given the neighborhood.

Call 311 to request street sweeping.

yeah, that puddle reaches way out into the westbound car lane.  I have to pull into the eastbound lane when I'm driving to avoid the worst of it.

Bill, cut south to Warren Blvd at Albany (side street just east of Kedzie).  Wide street, decent paving, light one-way traffic, clear bike lane, and runs all the way to Halsted.

Broken 40 oz bottles are everywhere as well.

Chicago or Grand are better alternatives.
