Kudos to Lets Roast Cycles

Today, riding in on Milwaukee, my chain broke right in the intersection of Division. I googled for a bike shop and discovered "Lets Roast Cycles" right down the block. It was 7:30 and they opened at 8:00 according to their website. So I got a cup of coffee and waited. Sure enough, right at 8:00 a guy rides up on a bike and opens the door. He replaced my chain in less than 5 minutes, charged me $17.50 and I was out the door.

He also said he replaces his chain every year. I usually don't but am wondering if that's a good idea. How often do you replace your chain?

Chains are cheap (relatively). Replacing them often will get more life out of your chainrings and freehub cassette. I replace mine about once a year, and keep it clean and lubricated all the time.
