Hey Chainlinkers,
I made a lot of my cell phone holsters for the Winter bike swap and still have a bunch left over. They'll soon be going to a few local shops (where they'll probably be more expensive) and up on Etsy and Square Markets, details to follow soon. But the best place to see and experience their superior quality and meet their crafty maker is on Wednesday evenings at Revolution Brewery on Kedzie (just south of Roscoe). I'm usually at one of the tables with some friends from 8-10pm; I will have a few cases on display on the table and all my friends sport them on their bags. If you can't find me or want to say "Yes, I'm interested so don't leave until I get there", send a text to Sevenseventhree - nineeightthree-zeroeighttwozero or email to:
knickerbakken@gmail.com
For those unfamiliar, my cases are made to be worn on the strap of a messenger bag or backpack and allow quick access to your cell phone while on the bike (hopefully after you've safely pulled over out of traffic), plus a pocket for id/transit pass, security card/etc. They'll fit on your belt too. They are made with 1000D Cordura and are as water resistant as legally close to saying "waterproof". I also do custom orders from my stock of 20 different cordura colors and 10 binding tape colors. $30 stock, $TBD for custom. Purchasing beers is a suitable discount as well.

How does it fit with iPhone 5 inside a LifeProof or Otter Box cases?
Does it have a hole for headphone jack? Or will it accommodate a headphone jack with the cover flipped closed?
Got pictures for the above request?
Hi J.A.W.
I should have clarified fit.
Due to retail requests for limited sizes, i have basically pared down to an iPhone5 size and an Android size; the iPhone5 size was designed around an iPhone5 wearing an Otterbox Commuter case, and the Android size was designed around a Samsung S4 wearing an Otterbox Commuter. I used to also make a smaller Android size, sized for the Samsung S2 (also with an Otterbox Commuter) and I have several of these but am switching to the larger size for universal future production. Defender cases fit, but more snugly.
If you have an Otterbox Defender or similar huge hard case, you may want to go up a size and I have little foam wedges that can be placed in the bottom of a case to lift a smaller phone up to an ideal height. Otterbox has changed their Defender series in the last 2 years and it's now built more like the commuter with a plastic back rather than rubber so those will fit easier (but they're still huge!) My case bottoms are the same width as the top flap, which is wider than than the phone, thus accommodating a little stretch to fit a wider case like the Defender. It just might be a tighter fit.
With all of that said, the short answer is: it depends. These are made by me, by hand, and have slight variation so that one may fit a little different than another, kind of like buying a pair of jeans today. If you want your case to fit like a glove, then we talk custom and you can dictate any color combination.
I honestly did not design them with headphone use in mind. Some phones have jacks on the bottom, some on the top, some on the left top, some on the right top; it's too much variation to address and a hole in the top flap diminishes their primary objective of protecting your phone from the elements. The standard iphone headphones sticks up 1 3/8" from the jack without being kinked. A shorter plug or an L-shaped variety will fit with the flap closed but an iphone5 with apple-supplied headphones would probably necessitate going to my Android size, or a custom order to address this concern.
Hope that helps.

Everything happens at revolution brewing this week when I have the flu.
I have heard tell that this fellow is often at Revolution on Wednesdays. :-) Hope you get over that flu soon!
Dirke, i hope you can still help me out with the custom stuff we discussed!
Oh man, I didn't see this response until just now and I'm already home.
It's still on my to-do list Iggy. Just shoring up some more secured phone case transactions first.

Bump.
Also, allow me to clarify and end any confusion. As I search out a more permanent retail solution, I'm trying to have an outlet to do some guerrilla sales/trunk shows. To that end, I'm saying that virtually every Wed evening, I spend time at Revolution Brewery (on Kedzie, just south of Roscoe, usually 8-10pm) and will have some cases with me on display at my table. This is not a "craft show" or anything official with other vendors, just a great place and time to come have a beer, check out my cases for yourself, and buy if you like. I take credit cards too with a Square reader if you're cash averse.
Look for me with some cases on a table or rsvp via text or email referenced in the OP. Thanks!
