Just a reminder. No bikes on Metra from June 25th - July 5th for the Taste

Hey Metra, create a bike car!

No bikes on the CTA on the 3rd of July either for the Taste.

due to this, I am bringing an old raleigh 20 down to the ride today. and yes metra should have a bike car.
Do the weekend trains really get that crowded due to the taste?
My question is does Metra really care about bikes. Are they even slightly flexible. If they were, I would like to see them at least allow bicycles on the first two or three morning trains OUT of the city. Can trains out of Chicago the morning of any of these festivals be crowded because of the festivals???? Because of the pouring rain, I tried to take the 08:30 train to Harvard on June 13 for my ride to St. Paul and was told it was not permitted because of the Blues Festival weekend!!! That made a lot of sense.
I'm sure these festivals cause an increase in passengers and maybe there really isn't room for bikes on certain trains, but an 8:30 outbound train? It sounds like they're enforcing rules for the sake of enforcing rules without really thinking things through. I'd love to see a bike car or at least actual space for bikes, but I'm not holding my breath...
I feel your pain. I fell victim to the CTA's stupidity on Election Night. Yes, I understand that bikes aren't allowed on the train because of the partying going on downtown and in Grant Park, but I'm going NORTH to Rogers Park well away from all the hoopla. (Yes, hoopla.)
