Is the lakefront trail closed for the marathon?

Does anyone know whether the lakefront bike path is closed at any point for the Chicago Marathon this Sunday?

ATA, can we get some news on whether the trail will be used for any part of the marathon or if it's just suggested as a viewing point?

Hey all,

We checked into this with the Mayor's Office of Special Events and found out that the Marathon course does not go on the Lakefront Trail.

We do anticipate that traffic on the trail may be heavier because of people traveling to and from viewing points (although the trail itself is too far away from the actual course for great viewing). That's why we list it on our updates.

Hopefully that will help Chainlinkers get around and plan their trips and recreation for the weekend!

Balbo is closed, blocking access to the lfp from the west.. as I found out last night
