Inner Tubes

Flat tires are not good. How can I avoid them? Should I get better tubes?

Bontrager 'hard case' no flats in 3 years of daily riding. They handle rough, but a bad ride is better than a good walk.

In our riding group, Chuck swears by Schwalbe tires. Clay rides Continental Gatorskins. Both run pretty well IMHO.

carry a flat kit, and ride nice tires. life is too short

I second Schwalbe as well. Went from maybe three flats a year to zero. Okay, last winter when it was like a gazillion degrees below zero I got a flat as the metal nozzle - or whatever you call it - exploded due to the freezing conditions. They aren't fast but perfect for city riding in snow, ice and rain. Only one fall this winter and that was on that strange day in Nov. when there was black ice.
