Be careful around a grey SUV with Illinois license plate "ENERGIE": its driver doesn't know how to use mirrors.

Where about did you encounter this driver & car?

Were they aggressive or just plain unaware?

Don't you just love it when bonehead drivers have a vanity plate? Makes 'em so much easier to remember!

At least you didn't have to deal with "being pelted with brussels sprouts by four lads in a ford fiesta" as was the issue one individual noted on The Guardian.Co.Uk's Bike Blog in response to this article on "bike rage"
I've had MANY close calls at that intersection.  Morons who just don't get that the left lane is for Clark, right is for Broadway

I was approaching the Clark/Broadway/Diversey intersection from the south. I was in the empty right lane (for those who go straight to Broadway or turn right to Diversey). "ENERGIE" was in the left lane, waiting, apparently, his turn to proceed north on Clark. All of a sudden, without showing the turn sign, that moron pulls into the right lane, right in front of me. Fortunately, I had just enough room between his car and the curb to avoid it. I have 3 (three!) headlights on my bike: hard to miss, that is, if you're looking.

The intersection design, signage, and pavement markings hardly make this clear or understandable to the "morons."

The pavement markings in the left northbound lane on Clark has an arrow pointing straight with ONLY below it. If you drove straight from this lane, you would drive into Central Savings/Borders.
