Took a two hour ride out into the corn fields today. It was a great ride. I neglected to relise I would have a head wind on the way back and should have held up some more of my strength.

yes...

Today was a typical Dutch Winter day. Or Fall day. Or Spring day. Or Summer day

I got to meet Hooter, Uptown's Snowy Owl, today on my ride along the lakefront. 'Twas well worth the wet, cold and rainy ride.

How cool is that?! I want to meet him, too.

It was not near as nice out as they said it was going to be, but we did ride close to 50

Today was the first day I felt the good ol' Winter challenge.

Even so, wasn't so bad.  I did avoid the side-skidding cabbie, though.

I have to find a way to keep my toes warm...other than froze toes,I was fine. I had two pair of socks but I think I will try the old Plastic baggie trick.

The LFP was a little tricky in a couple spots...I only rode from North ave. beach up to Irvingpark.

Get rid of the cotton socks and get wool socks...Wool is your friend this time of year.

+1 on the wool socks, but also make sure that you have plenty of room in your shoes for the second pair of socks, if the fit is too tight you will never win the warm toe battle
