yeah--that wind is pretty nuts...just got home from a northernly ride towards logan square.
Rode my new bike home 10+ miles during the flurry storm from my LBS.

Yeah that wind and ice caused my bike to slide out from under me.  I haven't fallen for years and realized it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.  The heavier winter clothing sure helped though.

That what I did riding to work in the morning!

. . . As it turned out, the wind wasn't the main source of hazard, but ice, especially at the Addison/Broadway intersection. Had to walk my bike there.

Head southwest!

How was LFP today? Esp around Oak Street curve?

I had a fun encounter with a fellow-cyclist at a red light[lincoln/fullerton] around the beginning of rush hour today... we both basked in the glow that is NOT having to deal with the gridlock in a car.

Headed back into the cooooLD..this Florida boy is ready for some sunny, spring riding!

Took my road bike out today.

Soooo much faster than my welded frame, dog trackin' mountain bike, though it served me well again this winter.

I wore my knew spring jacket and was too warm.

We're getting there, this weekend is Spring forward too 6:30 sunsets!

I hear the birds this morning!
Yesterday was my first bike commute of 2011 (Yay finally). Overdressed & got way sweaty on the way in, but a good time was had by me. Bring on the upper 30s, I'm ready!
It is a gorgeous day to ride. Of course, about 2 miles from work, although I had only 1 tire blowout the entire winter riding season, I had a blowout this morning...but, the remaining walk to the office was nice. Otherwise, wow, what a nice day to ride!
Great day to ride, but I am so over my snow tires. I am ready to switch back to my road bike. And best of all, I will be riding in Maui on Friday. Yes!
Unless your running studded snow tires I would not switch just yet, not so much for the weather but because the roads and trails are full of winter debris, glass and even rock salt will destroy good tires. I am going to wait until we get a couple good rains to wash some of it away.
Bad news--2nd flat in three weeks (agree with Michael that the streets are a disaster). Good news--sunny day for walking my bike and kid in trailer home.
