Snow dap

"SNOW DAP"

I was following someone's trail home tonight.

State & Jackson to Damen & Foster from 11pm to 12 am. Pants are soaked through and my feet are frozen but I loved it! ;-)

Started riding from the loop around 830 and just arrived to Little Village around 15 minutes ago. Such an epic/intense ride! Hope you make it home safely!

This looks like it's gonna be an interesting ride home at 1030/11 pm from downtown. Woot! ;-)

Wells & Madison to Wicker Park after Elvis Costello at the Chicago Theatre (11:30-11:50). Pretty pleasant.

How was the show?? ;-)

Almost three hours of just Elvis Costello with 7 guitars. Only one song (Watching the Detectives) with an electric guitar. The rest was acoustic. People always rave about Springsteen shows; i.e. he played for three hours!!!, foolishly glossing over the fact that it was three hours of springsteen songs. This was three hours of Elvis Costello. See the difference? It was great!

Well Costello is a bit more low key so 3 hours may be over kill however Springsteen is more up tempo so may be easier to do for 3 hours. Aside from this I'm not a huge fan of Springsteen and might drown myself after 3 hours of either depending on the chemical makeup of my brain ;-)

tonight was such a great ride home had a huge smile on my face the whole time. god i love winter

i'm i crazy or just very happy?

I envy you all, As of this week I've not been riding, due to the fact that I'm out delivering Christmas Presents through the Post Office and I'm just plain tired enough when i get home.  But the joy of riding just isn't there for me this week.  I did ride home on saturday and just loved seeing all the houses lite up and no car windows to have to view them out of! just all wide open with my eyes.  Lovely!!!

Okay, last night was a little crazy. I left a holiday party, with three Guinness and one Grahamwich french press coffee in me, at State/Grand at around 6:30. At first it was just a little wet and sloppy, but by the time I got to Clark/Belmont the bike lane was covered and I had to ride in car tracks. Still, I had a blast... if you saw a big dude on a Breezer going real slow, swerving all over, singing Christmas songs, and sticking his tongue out to taste the snow--that was me :)

Still wondering if I should get studded tires. There were only a few times I felt like I might lose control, but as slow as I was going I don't think a fall would have killed me.

Be safe out there today boys and girls!

Once again the city outdid itself. Despite the snow and drizzle, the streets were wet with water pooling in various places, due to the ridiculous amount of salt the City throws on the streets.

Once I got to work, it turned out that my rain jacket was covered with a layer of ice. You wouldn't know by looking at the street.

Traffic was really light. I thought I had set my alarm for the wrong time and had left an hour early.

streets by me (Hubbard between noble and wester) were super sloppy.  and my full fenders dont work.  i turned to look behind me and i got my googles covered in the goo.

Actually a nice ride in.  Halsted/Lincoln/Wells were all well maintained, even had bike lane for most of the ride.  Fenders a MUST for a day like today!
