This is at a favorite place of mine, Montrose Beach Pier, which is shaped like a question mark. Inside the loopy part are four posts sticking out of the water and a sandbar that appears and disappears, depending on the whims of the Sand Gods. I have kayaked there and could not see the bottom, and other times, like today, it was this huge mass. Beavers - or something similar, like otters or snipes - live around there and raccoons come out at night but go away when they see your lights. I am not sure where they go, but they disappear down the sides. Ooops. Too long of an answer.

It looks like it's off Montrose Beach. You can just barely make out what looks like the masts and hulls of the ships drydocked in the parking out to the right of the building.

Not bad ride in overall this morning. Patience, shower cap on helmet, and old yellow rain jacket were just the right additions to my normal riding gear.

Dressed for rain but it stopped when I left for work. Wind out of the east and south was not too bad although it slowed me down a little bit. I know, how could I go any slower? :D

This was exactly the story of my commute. Except for the missing part about stopping and removing a layer. And for me, the south part of the wind was a tailwind! And I was hung over.

I was dressed for a downpour, walked outside and it was my fav weather to ride- heavy overcast. I only rode to the Metra :( I thought I would take the bus>Metra so it was too late to ride all the way DT. Glad I decided to take the 3 speed at the last minute to get a few miles in!!

I wore all the rain gear, missed all the rain, but enjoyed the spray on the LFP at Fullerton! Some huge waves hitting the wall. I expect to see some significant ice along there when the temps drop temp drop this evening.

When I got out of bed around 6am it was raining hard.
By the time I got the kids dropped off at school and hopped on the bike it had stopped raining.
Had a great ride down the LFP, also dressed for rain.
Might be harder going home @6pm with a 30mph northwest wind.

All in all it's late December and 46 degrees..... No complaints

It was a swim day today for me, so I swam to the Y, then swam at the Y. By the time I was done (7:30-ish) it had stopped raining, but by then it was too late to ride to work. Be safe getting home. Hopefully the rain won't turn to snow by the time you head home...
