Oh ick. This must be payback for the one million great days we've had all winter and spring.

I'm not riding in the rain today and spending my afternoon walking dogs.

Luckily the downpour didn't happen until mile 7 of my 10 mile commute. Man, it's coming down pretty good. Stupid me forgot to bring extra socks and shoes, so now my feet are cold and clammy.

I REALLY need to invest in some waterproof booties and pants.

Weatherproof gear! Psst! I need thunderstorm gear! I was soaked to the bone! The downpour started with the start of my commute... let up about mile 4.5 of 6. Thanks! Got my pants stuck in my chain and had to wade through a large puddle to unhook them... I have pant-bands, just have them hanging on my bag. *Shakes head, Dumbass!*

Well, that was fun! I did enjoy not having to fight over the bike lane, and I think the drivers felt sorry for me because no one tried to run me over. Ha!

Now I am praying everything is dry by 5!

The heavy stuff started almost immediately after I left this morning. I made it an entire block before I turned around and headed back to the garage. Put everything I had on in the dryer for an hour, watched last night's "Community" again, and waited the storm out. An hour later I was on my way in conditions much easier to handle. I salute everyone who slogged through that this morning.

When I left for work this morning the heavy stuff really started to come down. I was fully kitted out in my rain gear so I stayed resonably dry. My feet got soaked, and I spent all day with wet feet. Wet feet are not much fun for a whole day when you are on them.

Miss the storm this morning, Got on the LFP around 9am just wet no rain.

Big thanks! to the guy on the black mountain bike with red panniers who basically pulled me and my fat tire Schwinn for Montrose to Fullerton :)

For the ride home I left work at 6:30

felt a lot cooler with a north head wind.

First CCM for me, happy Friday! Met some terrific Chainlink peeps too. Saw the spectrum of bike skills, handling, stunts and a low speed crash. The guy operating an 1888 Penny Farthing high wheeler was phenomenal. Crossing the river West on Belmont, he managed to get both legs off the peddles and up over the bars for a short period. WOW.

The route was a sort of a Southside psych. Did we get as far South as Halsted & Archer? Then back North to Belmont. I see the attraction to CCM for bike drivers. And the dissatisfaction of some inflexible motor vehicle operators. The expression on a CTA bus drivers face early on in the Loop was priceless. CPD were excellent. Thanks Chainlink community.

CCM tonight was a bit disorganized. The leaders tended to pass cars at intersections and cause them to get trapped within the mass which causes a dangerous situation. It's a practice that should be avoided IMHO.

I saw quite a bit more than 1slow-speed tip. Ethanol and clipped in might not be a good combination perhaps as almost every advanced gravity excursion I saw happened rolling to a stop -or right after.

Still was fun. Nice to meet you Steel Driver. Next time I should bring a steel road bike just for kicks instead of my tank. Thank you CCM for dropping me right off in front of my house...

Endomondo said I went 21.99 miles. Not too shabby for the day on the slow bike.
