How would someone go about getting the southshore train ( northern indiana regional commuter transportation ) or what ever, to accept bikes since alot of people would like to ride in Chicago or Il. people ride the train to the dunes or elsewhere in Ind.

It would be great. I'd love to bike around the dunes, here is an article about a petition and the petition itself. They could do it at least on non-rush times.

I keep triying to sign this pettion but it will not accept it. It keeps saying sorry try again later. Like it's a lotto scratch off.

Hmmm.. I dunno. Maybe it is closed. This was from a couple months ago. Or maybe you need to use an updated browser.

I would start with working with Active Transportation, isn't that the sort of thing they deal with?

Get a Brompton. They will accept it.

or Dahon

Sometimes a person just has to admit they do not know something. What is a Bromnpton or a Dahon?

Donald,

Brompton and Dahon are folding bike brands.

I personally ride a Riese und Müller Birdy BD-1 folding bike and it's allowed on the Metra at ANY time, as long as it's in a bag when I'm on the train.

Hey folks, we've been working with NICTD to urge them to do a pilot and complete a study about bikes on trains. It's an issue that's important to us and we have several staff that are involved. We'll keep you posted, of course. We'll get more bikes on trains!

Thanks,
