There was a hit-and-run on N. Ashland Avenue right by the Leland Avenue intersection. I did not witness it but my two sons did. A woman was riding southbound and a black vehicle (jeep-like or minivan) hit her and kept going. My sons were the first on the scene. My older son was able to help her get out of the street but says she couldn't walk without help and she was not able to speak clearly. She was taken away in an ambulance.

I have looked on the Chicago Breaking News for more information but have not seen a news report yet. Anyone hear anything about this?

The main reason I am seeking additional information is because my sons now have further questions because of witnessing it and being the first on the scene. My older son is 17 y.o. special needs boy and my younger one is 4 y.o.
