Hiring ROADIECAB Rickshaw-Pedicab Operators/Neighborhood Ambassadors (Logan Square & Avondale)

ROADIECAB provides local, green, pedal-powered transport via bike rickshaws that are brand new to the US market following great success in many European cities. The hand crafted design from Poland seats the customers in front of the operator, offering increased comfort and a more enjoyable experience for all involved. Focused on serving the daily needs of residents and visitors to the bike friendly Logan Square/Avondale area, we are committed to pursuing local partnerships and relationships that strengthen and benefit the community. We hope to make the streets safer, the community more vibrant and work to encourage all to pursue a car free lifestyle and spend more time on bikes!

WE ARE NOW RECRUITING OPERATORS FOR OUR 2013 SEASON!

We offer Full Time, Part Time, Nights/Weekends, Daytime, Seasonal, Shift and Student work.

We would ideally like to source bike enthusiasts with a connection to the Logan Square/Avondale community to serve as Independent Contracted ROADIECAB Operators. Our hope is our Operators will work to establish themselves as unique, community and socially minded neighborhood ambassadors to our growing area. Operators are required to complete training and safety courses and are covered under our Liability Insurance policy. You keep all fares and tips from your shifts and simply pay us a flat rate as a shift rental fee. We provide a laid back working environment, flexible scheduling, and full maintenance and handling of all of the details involved with dispatching and coordinating of reserved rides/tours/special events.

We are looking for individuals who are healthy, active, and who possess a friendly, positive, easy going, and open personality. Are you self-motivated? Will you eagerly help customers with a friendly and peaceful demeanor? Are you able to maintain calm in high stress situations and have you fully contemplated the risks that will come with operating a rickshaw on the streets of Chicago? You must be able to handle ever changing working conditions such as weather, traffic and diverse customer personalities.

Customer service and sales pros, especially those with work history in hospitality industries such as hotels, restaurants, music venues and other service related sectors will be a good fit within our business model. Comedians, Actors, Artists, Musicians, Stagehands; anyone who is a strong story teller or who enjoy sharing historical information with others will have success. Most importantly, whatever your unique background, we are most interested in candidates who are honest, trustworthy and can commit to working safely at all times.

Whether you are looking for a tight knit bike crew and want to commit full time for the season, or a student home on summer break in Chicago, or simply a neighborhood resident looking for a creative outlet to earn more on nights and weekends, please do not hesitate to contact us.

• Age 18 and Older
• Possess an Unexpired and Valid Driver's License
• Able to Prove Ability to Work in the US (we do not require an I-9 and documents as you will be an Independent Contractor renting the rickshaw, but think it would be smart for you to ensure if you do in fact end up operating one of our rickshaws and need to prove this to authorities)
• Able to Communicate in the English Language
• Not Addicted to Any Substance and Promise to Not Use Anything while Operating
• Basic Street, Business, and Nightlife Knowledge of Logan Square/Avondale Area (or willing to learn, we will train!)
• Healthy and Fit Enough to Complete a Standard 6 Hour Shift
• Present a Professional, Friendly, Sanitary Image (Think T-Shirt/Shorts Professional)

• Operator Signs Independent Contractor Rental Seasonal Agreement

KEY PARTNERSHIPS INCLUDE:
Corner Farm Chicago (Altgeld Sawyer and Kimball Medill Farms), Logan Square, Chicago.
ROADIECAB, LLC asks its Operators to donate $1 from each shift to the Corner Farm Chicago project. Their farms provide mentoring programs to local kids and fresh food donations to local food pantries at Christopher House and Kimball Avenue Church.

Achiase Children's Home, Afransi, Ghana
ROADIECAB, LLC then matches the local Operator donation straight to the Achiase Children Home's in Ghana where over 30 children of all ages are sheltered, fed, clothed and educated. The home purchased farmland a few years ago and just completed an addition to their school.

West Town Bikes Youth Program, Humboldt Park, Chicago
ROADIECAB approached them with an idea to partner on a program in which supervised youth cycle 2 miles each way up to our Humboldt Park Storage/Shop facility at the edge of the Bloomingdale Trail to learn about, service and maintain our rickshaw fleet. This connection allows for small, local, bike and start up business learning potential and it provides a great avenue to help reach our goals of making the community stronger and safer for all.
