I signed up a month or so ago just to follow the local bike scene. I commute to work by bike. This site is a great resource.

I did a Google search to compare some gear and the site popped up in the results. I've been biking for a long time, but it never really occurred to me to join a forum before. So far, I'm liking it.

I've been familiar with the site for a while through friends. I have ridden in Chicago for five years now and absolutely love it, thought I'd join one of the excellent online cycling communities.

After going to the courthouse today, I joined because I wanted to respond to some messages by Nick and chicagoBikes. But I ended up thinking better of it.

That said, I grew up in a household in NY with no car, where my both of my parent's main mode of transportation was a bicycle. So, while I don't bike consistently, I am strongly supportive of the community. Perhaps I will start riding more again.
