As the weather has gotten nicer, a number of kids have started riding to school.   That's great.   But they don't appear to know the rules of the road, the need to wear helmets, and how to properly lock up their bicycles.  So I talked to the vice principal and he, in turn, thinks that this might be a good school seminar for the students IF I can find some group that could put this on.  So, does anyone know of any groups (CBF?, the City) that are willing to come to a school and put on a presentation about Bike Safety and Security?

Contact information would be great.

Are you in the City of Chicago or in the suburbs?

Another possibility is the National Center for Safe Routes to School. They have a link to the IL rep. www.saferoutesinfo.org

Seriuosly, if you want someone to come to your school and you are in the city, contact me: charlie.short@activetrans.org. If you're in the suburbs, contact Jason Jenkins: jason@activetrans.org. We will send people out.
