Has anyone heard that Earwax is going to close?

Someone just told me this, and I was courious to know if it is true!?

yep - i passed by and noticed that earwax is already back in business. does anyone know the backstory on why it closed? it seemed to happen rather suddenly and quietly.

the last time they were shut down (in 2008), it was because the city health inspectors found rats / rat droppings, and the owners didn't do anything to fix it. yuck.

i love earwax, but i really hope the most recent closure wasn't because of sanitary problems. :I

Money, personalities, jumping through flaming hoops from the city/greasing the right mafia boss's palms. Running any restaurant in Chicago is a circus.

Fear not, lovers of good veggie food! Earwax closed for a while but is now open again due to popular demand. They're going to have some new menu items. (And hopefully they'll still be BYOB.)
