Ride Illinois, a nonprofit bicycle advocacy organization, is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to develop print and electronic materials for the organization. The intern will report to the Chief Operations Officer and will work remotely from their own home with regular conference calls and in-person meetings (in Chicago) as needed.

Ride Illinois is seeking a self-motivated individual with positive attitude and strong time management skills to handle the following responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and prepare creative print and digital materials including: newsletters, brochures, postcards, direct mail, flyers, advertising, and web graphics.
  • Understand and consistently follow the organization’s graphic standards.
  • Assist in website updates as needed.
  • Help organize and manage digital assets.
  • Help write print bids as needed, and prepare artwork for press.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required.
  • Ability to complete design work on your own computer is also required.
  • An interest in bicycling and general nonprofit work is preferred.

This internship is for the spring semester (February – mid June) with a possible extension through the summer. Stipend is available to the qualified intern who can commit to 10-15 hours per week for the semester-long internship.

Thanks for your question Jorge. We are a small, nonprofit, advocacy organization with a statewide focus, so all of our staff members works remotely from home offices. We interact by email, phone, and in person meetings as needed. The intern would be working with me and other staff members in same way, as there is no central office. Our design work is done both by staff (mostly me in Chicago) and by freelance designers (located in various areas).
