The Chainlink

It is wonderful that cities will include bicycle lanes in the planning and production of roadways. Its also great that they will put up a sign to remind drivers not to forget we're there, but, to put that huge sign in the middle of the lane! Hilarious and could bring up interesting conversation.

Anyone had an interesting ironic biking experience?

I'd love to see this in Chicago.

Is that in Portland?

That photo is in Manhattan - 9th Ave in Chelsea, to be exact. The sidepaths in Montreal are much narrower by comparison. PDX does not have any sidepaths (yet, unless you count these), although Vancouver has started building some.

My favorite cycling facility photo site:

and for those who share my British sense of humour:

And my own personal ironic nominees: Austin's brief bike lane and this berserk London lane.

(As you can tell, I like photographing bike paths.)
With the state of most urban lanes, photographing them is probably safer than riding in them!

Thbest I've seen in the sStates are in Sacramento, but it is 105 degrees and smoky there.
