Chicago’s Burnham Racing cycling program for a light-hearted training/recovery ride on the first Monday of each month, departing Trek Bicycles of Michigan Avenue at 6:00 p.m. and meandering to the Midway Plaisance, returning via the Lakefront path or MLK Drive as conditions dictate. In the spirit of team namesake Daniel Burnham, the ride winds through the former grounds of the World’s Columbian Exposition and will serve as an opportunity to socialize, to recover from weekend races or to ask questions in a non-competitive setting for those looking to learn more about bike racing. The distance will be set around 17-20 miles, and the pace will be set at approximately 17-20 miles per hour. Riders may, on occasion, seek out coffee after the ride.
