The Chainlink

Hi, I am starting a deaf cycle group that is geared towards to education of cycling for people with disabilities. I have noticed not many of us that are deaf cyclist and I am trying to change that mentality with my community to be open minded with cycling in Chicago.

Our first meeting is on Sunday, February 23rd, 2014 at 10am. Please send me a message if you want to join us. Location will be shared via email.

Melissa:  this is a great idea!  I hope you're successful, this could be a huge help for differently-able folks.

Great idea! What a wonderful addition to our community.

Best of luck getting the ball rolling!

What a great idea!

You state that your group is geared toward people with disabilities. But you also state it is for deaf cyclists. Could you clarify? I know of a few cyclists who have mild to serious disabilities but are not deaf. Not sure if I should give them the heads up about your group...

Thanks.

Liz,

Currently we are starting out small with deaf disability first but we do welcome others if they want to come join us to push this to be a full blown thing. I want to make sure we have the right tools and people to get started with.
