Fastest sinking thread in chainlink history entry: Anyone seen Damiana Liquour for sale?

I know this is a longshot...

I'm on a quest to learn how to make the perfect Margarita and received a tip for Damiana Liqueur as a "special ingredient."

I can't find any evidence that it's sold here anywhere. Pored through the entire Sam's site . . . looked in a few neighborhood places with better than average variety of Mexican liquors.  None of the online sources ship to Illinois.

Thanks for any leads . . .

i still have the bottle!!... let's make a deal!

I was skeptical but I called and Scott said he would see if he couold track it down.

A kind chainlinker pointed me to a site that seems to be able to ship it, but the shipping charges are almost as much as the bottle itself-- anyone interested in going in on an order to get the shipping per bottle down a bit? It's something like $13 for one, $17 for two . . .

You could try Fine Wine Brokers in lincoln square. If they don't have it, they will look for you.

A weird liqueur in a silly bottle that can lead to better Margaritas and is hard to track down in IL?  Sounds great!  I'd be happy to add a bottle to your order and shave some $ off shipping costs if it doesn't work out with FWB.

Cool! What part of town? Do you paypal? Who else... Dr. Mambohead?

Most of my time is spent in Logan Square, Humboldt Park and East Garfield Park, but I travel to other parts of the city fairly frequently.  Happy to PayPal if that's easier for you!

Turns out Binny's at Roosevelt/Jefferson had a few bottles even though they weren't on their website.

Too tired to crack the bottle and try it tonight.

Thanks to all for the footwork!

Congratulations. The fact that you located it right between the Yukon Jack and the Malort is nothing short of ominous. Good Luck.
