So what is it that makes you stare a bit too long while riding?

It could be bike porn, a cute blond, a car, cool architecture...

Mine is easy - Dogs. Puppies are the worst, I have almost crashed a couple of times over those cute 4 legged furry creatures.

Apparently not....why don't you enlighten us. I did hear a rumor that you breed Llamas though.

Apparently you have never heard my Llama story.
Hey I'm right on the same page, I saw a Bentley GT Coupe and almost went in to the back of a civic. I LOVE 2oo2's

I get a lot of flak from people my age who think only riding bikes is "true" and "hardcore" and that PBR is the only drink worth drinking...

But a nice car (to me) will always turn my head. Particularly 914's, M-coupes and Miatas, but also VW's, some Saabs, old italian cars, BMW 2002's, some motorcycles and scooters. I used to have a 914 and a Miata so I am always seeing them in my peripheral vision, even when I'm concentrating on something else (riding). I keep seeing the same R8 around Chicago too, and I've been seeing a lot of S5's lately too.

There I said it, I am a cyclist that is also a car guy.
you aren't the only one.

Here's what I mean:

So is my 7 year old nephew. He was playing in a car at the Healthy Living Expo last weekend and the toyota guy told me he gave explicit instructions on how to use the clutch. The guy also loves anything to do with biking.

Sorry, only a few seconds to respond right now, but I had a bad crash in Michigan somehow by taking my hand off the handlebar to point at Llamas, and was temproarily paralyzed (no movement or feeling below the neck). 2 days before 9/11. So I'm pretty confident my response fits the original question :-)

I took off someone's side view mirror with my handlebars while distracted by the items in the window of a head shop on Chicago. Yikes! Amazingly, I didn't go down! Phew. I even got to keep all my fingers!
I crashed once for staring at a beautiful blonde walking on the sidewalk. I was looking at her, and she waved. I took my hand off the bars to wave back, and went down. Luckily, she was concerned and went over to help me up, and so did her husband or boyfriend who was on the other side of the street waving at her when I went down.
Hahaha best one so far!

URBAN NATURE
While biking on a path in some park up in Rogers Park or vicinity, I was taken by a beautiful garden/woodsy area. Being away from auto traffic, my defensive biking was relaxed. I suddenly looked up and was about to crash into a tree.
