Hmmm, could be. That man loved to torture anything he could find. Bicycles, suspects, roads, himself, probably his wife, too. On a more serious note, though, I gave up winter riding mostly because of my fear of ice. I've fallen twice attempting to take the curve along the lakefront at Oak Street over invisible ice. I've seen some impressive videos demonstrating the grippiness of spiked tires, apparently even making turns on ice with no loss of control. Very intriguing but is it for real?
