What is the super-spectacular cause?  I wish I would have seen this earlier- my neighbor has 3 mtb that all look pretty decent (bike shop bikes, not big box store ones), and I bet he would have donated one if the cause was something he felt worthy of- sadly, he's out of state for the next 3 weeks.

Alas, all we have is a lonely Huffy Expedition that we picked up to strip the tires/rims off of, but never did get around to stripping it- if you want it, it is yours, as it is in decent condition and fully functional, if a bit heavy ugly and cheap.

Hey Iggy...

While I wouldnt classify it as decent, I have a cross bike frame in my garage you could have, all it needs is a set of wheels.  I might even be able to put together a set of wheels from what I have.  The wheel size is 700c so I'm not sure if that's too big for what you have in mind.

i may be willing to wait the three weeks, ill just have to ship the bike.

the super spectacular cause is BEER.  a friend and i started a homebrew club and we are quickly gaining membership and have secured a space that we are almost done moving into.  we are just short on some brewing equipment.  an angel presented itself - a guy who is moving, a homebrewer, has an amazing three tier self contained electric brewing setup that he needs to part with before going this weekend.  its on the market for $1200, but is willing to trade for a mountain bike and such.

i in turn would be happy to brew a batch of your desired style of beer as a thank you for the donation.  5 gallons worth. thats about 50 beers.

Hey, Paul.  im waiting to verify size, but from a video of the brew set up i saw, dude was pretty tall.  id be willing to look into that option as well.

Ohhh Ash has one sittin in the house, ill ask her

If you don't have one by June 5th, there's a chance (a slim chance) I can find one. We're clearing out our bike basement here and I imagine some bikes will go unclaimed. We thought that Working Bikes would be our choice place for donation, but we also like beer. I don't really know if anything will be down there. There's a lot of junky stuff, but who knows?

Keep us posted! I'm curious to hear how your barter goes.

I'm a firm believer in the barter system. Let's just hope it believes in me.

I need something before the first, as the dude is moving, but if I can confirm something, and he trusts me, id ship the right bike in the barter.

Keep me posted.

I'm also a big fan of bartering.

I missed the part about the dude moving.

I'll let you know about our scene here. As I said, most of it is junk down there, but you never know. We have everyone labeling what they own and making sure there's fair warning given to each tenant so that they can claim their property.  There are so many bikes down there! It's a good problem to have, I guess...erm...until you need to get the hose out to water the garden. God. We need rain barrels.

I have one that is stickered, a 1990-ish Trek 820 Steel Frame.

Needs a few minor adjustments it was my winter bike, a new seat, chain, brakes but still totally rideable.

Has new puncture resistant "street" tires with liners a fender, rack and water bottle holder. I'm 6'5" and it fit's me great.

Now if I can save up enough for some type of hybrid for this winter...
