Do you ask for a "Soda" or "pop"?

My whole life it was always "Gimmie a pop"...

Then when I was in the Marines I live in California for a while and it's been "may I have a soda" ever since.

Years ago I was in Orlando and asked the store clerk where did they keep the pop. He gave m e a strange look, when I asked what was wrong he told me that 'pop' in the area was crack cocaine! Since then wherever I go, I ask for a soft drink.

I used to say 'coke' all the time when I live down south. It may be a southern thing? Now I'm pretty sure I always say 'soda'.

I had 2 pops Wednesday, that's more than I usually drink in a month.

in parts of new england..they call it 'a tonic'. now that is F'd up.....
