End: 01/24/2010 - 5:00pm
This 6-week series will cover everything you need to know to keep your bike tuned up. You will learn to overhaul bottom brackets, headsets and hubs, true wheels, adjust brakes, replace brake pads and cables, and adjust shifters and derailleurs. Class 1 will give you an basic overview to bike mechanics including the names of the parts of a bike, names of tools, fix-a-flat and basic cable adjustments.

West Town Bikes will provide the workstands and tools. Participants must provide their own project bikes, and any other replacement parts needed, which may be purchased before-hand at our sales shop, Ciclo Urbano. Storage space will not be provided--you must take your bike with you at the end of each class.

Highly recommend this class! The amount of money you will save in one year doing your own repairs and tune-ups is astronomical! Most bikes I end up repairing for friends is do to lack of maintence. If they kept up with it, they wouldn't have to spend money on new parts due to neglect. Listen folks, if this is your primary source of transportation, it's a no brainer that this investment is fractional in comparison to cost of maintaining a car or even the total cost of having a bike shop service your rig several times a year.

Roll like a champ and be safe!
