Discussion and photo sharing for Tour of North Park - this Saturday Sept. 26

Hello everyone,

First of all, I am hoping that someone(s) that is planning to come to the ride can volunteer for some sign placement and straggler wrangling. Peterson Park is deep within North Park Village, so people may be a little lost on this one.

Definitely one of those things that should have been better thought of in the beginning. I was originally planning to meet at the northwest corner of the park, but so many people drive in on some of the tours and there is almost no parking on Central Park or Peterson over there. Thus, we have the whole of North Village for drivers to park in if they need it.

Also, we definitely will be riding in any weather, aside from lightning, which I do not mess with, and particularly with a group ride, but predictions are for a rainy Saturday, not that they know anything, so dress accordingly.

North Park is a beautiful area. There are more trails on this ride than any prior one I have done. Here are some pics from the first of three research rides I did. Back to solo research this month.

Anyone have any ideas for a get together place after the ride? We did it the last few times and it has been fun to hang with folks and tip a few back afterwards. I will probably post this querry on E2RR2E as well.
Cheers and hope to see a bunch of you out there. It is a fun way to spend your Saturday afternoon.

I do, but every time I have been around there, the parking is full up. There are any where from two to three soccer games going perpetually over there and that is what takes up the bulk of the parking it seems. I figure people will come from several directions and the park is so sprawled out. I have a few little corrugated plastic boards I am cutting into arrows and just writing "Tour of North Park" on and directing everyone to the fieldhouse.

Or that is the plan you know.

It is going to be a smaller affair this time around I believe. There were no posters and much less pr....too busy.

Cheers - lee

Hey Lee,
You probably know this but there is access from the Central Park side roughly in line with Ardmore, a gate which leads to a playground and a path just into North Park Village.
We used to start the Ultimate Neighborhood Ride there and I thought I recalled ample parking along Central Park?
Thanks Howard. Cheers - Lee

I see . . . I guess I always saw it on Sunday morning . . .
Hope the weather pleasantly surprises you, and a few helpers come out of the woodwork.
