I've had it spit out odd autocorrections and sometimes even if you go back and change it, the autocorrect will replace the word again.  Since the iphone apparently picks up what words you use to a certain extent, it's possible to get this depending on your texts.  Also since hitting space will replace the current word with autocorrected words, it's really easy to pick the autocorrected words even if you spell the word you intend to use correctly.
