Chicago police are seeking a hit-and-run driver who killed a cyclist early this morning.

WBBM Radio is reporting that the man was hit as he rode his bike on Division Street near Cicero.

According to police, a dark-colored minivan struck the cyclist at about 2:40 this morning and was last seen speeding west on Division.

There’s probably front-end damage to the van.

The impact took the seat and handlebars off the bike.

The victim was initially taken in critical condition to Mt. Sinai Hospital but doctors were unable to save him.

He was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Police are asking for help from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

The Tribune is identifying the cyclist as Aimer Robledo, of the 1400 block of North Avers Avenue.

I did it--I looked at the comments to the Tribune article.  If those people are representative of humanity in Chicago (or anywhere) society is almost all of the way to hell.
