Interesting (though technically shallow) article in the NY Times today about coming "smart" technology:
Copenhagen Lighting the Way to Greener, More Efficient Cities
What caught my eye was the "green wave" lighting for cyclists. The article didn't describe how it works, but based on the picture at the top with green lights in the pavement and a red light ahead, I assume that as long as you are riding in a section of green lights, they tell you the traffic light will turn green before you reach it.
