It seems that the saying that goes, "it's always good to be prepared", really is true.
Especially during a popular bike ride when some one takes a nasty enough spill and needs
another cyclist that has a first aid kit and someone with basic first aid knowledge.
And incidents like this happen occasionally, and if it happened to you (or perhaps even myself),
I'm sure that you'd appreciate (as i did) the first aid some one could give you.

This is great Tom, thanks for posting this. Just last week my wife and i saw a senior lady fall on the street on Archer. We stopped to make sure she was ok, and she was mostly just shaken up, but she did have a small abrasion on her head. My paltry first aid kit was exhausted of pretty much everything so all we could do was offer some moral support and a kind word.
Kind words can't fight an infection or stop bleeding.
