I'm looking to find a vintage road bike. This will be my first road bike ever. I usually ride BMX bikes but those aren't ideal for commuting to school and what not. I've been checking craigslist frequently but I haven't really found anything I would consider buying. Are there any bike shops in Chicago that have a good selection of vintage road bikes. I would love to go and check them out if anyone knows of any. It would really help me out.

I don't know what size or age bike you're looking for, but I have a sweet Bianchi Limited for sale:

Cheers,

I'm about 5'10 so anything from a 54cm up to maybe 58cm would fit me. I haven't really tried a 58cm yet.
Oh, that is sexy. Good thing 54cm is as absolutely small as I can go in a road bike so I am safe. Even that is really pushing it.
Phew! that was close.
I think this bike would be too small for you. I'm 5'7" tall and it fits me well. You should probably look for a 56-57, maybe even 58cm. Happy hunting, Darrell

working bikes has alot of used/vintage bikes
I was planning on going to working bikes tomorrow, but thanks. Have you purchased from there before?
I was actually there today picking up a tire. I did see a ton of nice bikes(can't recall any specific one right now)...but I bet you'll find something.

Just make sure whatever you buy fits you. Fit is everything.
WB is a great place. They have an awesome used part selection too.
Sweet, Hopefully I find something that fits me.

I strongly recommend that you check out Working Bikes (full disclosure: I'm an intern at Working Bikes). If you don't find something you like on the sales floor, we're also having a vintage bike silent auction Sunday, April 1st at 9am. Most of those bikes are more cruisers/ballooners/middleweights, but we do have a bunch of cool vintage Schwinn road bikes in the mix.
maybe try Nearly New up on n broadway. I know a lot of people who have had luck there
Are the bikes at working bikes affordable? I don't want to spend more than like 150 if possible. I'm on a tight budget.
