Chicago to Schaumburg Best Route

I want to get to the NW suburbs; Roselle /Schaumburg area from Humboldt Park. I tried goggling it but all I can find is straight down Irving park road. What are the bad parts? Has anyone done
the trip? Any help would be awesome.

I've had the same issues, but going the other way. I can get to Des Plaines River Rd. and Golf Rd. from Palatine pretty easily but I don't really know where to go from there. I've heard that trying to cross 294 and 94/90 is pretty difficult.
