Chicago Ave Bridge Gate Closed

The "stealth river route" John Greenfield posted a while back about taking the riverwalk path from Kingsbury/Ontario to Halsted/Division is no longer viable – the gates to the Chicago Ave bridge have been locked.

They were locked back in February 2013 when I tried it. I asked CDOT's spokesperson Pete Scales about it and he never got back to me.
