I'm a part of a volunteer cultural committee putting on a big concert and rally for Chuy Garcia next Sunday, March 29, at Alhambra Palace downtown Chicago. I am still in need of a few additional volunteers:

Polls are not 'turnout'. Polls don't count. The 'turnout' and the 'undecided voters' determine the outcome on election day.

Depends on who is doing the polling. Republican, Rahm-backing Tribune polls or Lake Research Partners:

It's funny that this is where you're posting. In Rahm's administration, as Tony mentioned, there have been plenty of examples of watered down versions of good infrastructure changes *because of public input.*

So, let me get this straight: to you guys, it shows strong leadership when public input fails under Rahmses, but it's a failure of leadership when it comes from Chuy???

We don't have money for a lot of this new building anyway, let's be honest, and the borrowing schemes are about to all fall through. Plus, if a neighborhood won't embrace a road diet that isn't fully financially supported, even if it is part of a network, it's going to fail. Berteau is a great example.

I live close to South Ashland and strongly favor the addition of an express bus lane and a bike lane.  I don't know anybody who is against it.

Maurice, I believe that the current Ashland BRT system plan does not include any bike lanes.

I put more faith in a journalist's summary than in a candidate's platform. There is no mention on the web page for example about "a more extensive community approval process" which is pretty key. If past results project into the future, this community approval process essentially means caving into NIMBYism and would water down or even kill road diets and bike lanes and other non-car centered transportation improvements.

Let's not have the candidates speak for themself. All we end up is spinmeisters trying to polish turds.

Let's instead have the media ask pointed questions and disect their answers. That leads to better insight.
