Centennial Trail Sunday Morning (Oak Park towards Romeoville)

The Centennial Trail is closing for two years after next weekend, so I want to get a last ride in. Leaving Oak Park at 7:30 am, needing to be back in Oak Park about noon. Planning on 40-50 miles at a moderate pace. If anyone is interested, feel free to reach out for contact/meetup information.

Great ride Tim. My first time on the Centennial. Too bad it will be a while before it's open again.
It was a beautiful morning, and a really nice ride. Plus, it had more turtles in it thanI have ever seen.

So it's definitely closing? I saw the earlier thread that had pics of a fence up and then a later post saying the fence was gone. This is a bummer; I've never used that section of the I&M but I've heard it's not as nice.

It will be closed between Willow Springs Road and Illinois 83, with the closure tentatively scheduled for May 13th.  The best information to be found is here:

OLB and I rode both sides of the trail today.  The Centennial is definitely nicer, but the I & M is perfectly serviceable.

Sounds like a great ride. Going to take you up on it.
