I assume you mean 'take out' or 'carry out'-- food you're purchasing and taking home for yourself vs. a delivery gig?
IMO baskets are the way to go. No need to strap things down, plenty of room for padding and leakage is no big deal. The ride for delicate foods can be a bit jarring-- I have a copy paper box with sheets of padding cut from an old sofa cushion (Fruitcase tm) I use to pack fruit from the grocer. The double sided rear basket I have on my utility bike creates a nice square platform for carrying a pizza box.
Hmmm.... Pizzzzzzaaaaaghhh.
yeah, you can do pizzas on a rear rack, just use a loose bungee.. For donuts, use either a basket or a milk crate if it will fit. Most places use flat boxes for donuts now though don't they?
