I love my Brooks B17, which is perfectly broken in for my bottom.
One of the rails broke.
Is there anyone in Chicago or suburbs who can repair or replace a Brooks saddle rail/frame?

Sorry to hear the saddle is busted. I don't know of anyone that would repair the rail, as it's kind of a main piece to the saddle. Was it sitting too far forward or back? That's the only way I could think that you could snap a rail(outside of an accident). Even if you were to find someone that bent a steel rod in the shape that you need, the strength and tension of that metal would probably be much different than what was originally used in the saddle.

Though it's probably over a few years old, the warranty info from Brooks is as follows:

WARRANTY CLAIM

Brooks products are guaranteed for 2 years from the date of purchase against defects in manufacture or materials. If you believe you have a claim under this guarantee, you should return the product to the place of purchase along with your receipt. Your dealer should take care of your claim by sending the defective product back to Brooks England Ltd through its wholesaler, and substituting it with a new product if it is deemed a valid claim.
Brooks England Ltd. and its dealers will not accept claims due to crashes, accidents or low product maintenance and care.

I am pretty sure I've had the saddle more than two years. I don't think it was mounted wrong, and there has been no accident.

Brooks sells replacement frames and its website includes some information on repairs. I was hoping someone local might be able to accomplish the task.

I don't know if a broken rail can be repaired, but here's snippet of a mail from the Classic Rendezvous list:

Further to my post from earlier today, I have been in communication off list with Tony Colegrave and I wish to update the CR list as follows;

Regarding Saddle restoration services within North and South America, Mr. Colegrave is recommending Simon Firth and Rudi Mayr; two state side gents whom in the opinion of Mr. Colegrave, have proved themselves to be every bit as capable as Tony - and, what is more important, are based in the US.

Simon Firth, can be found at Firth & Wilson Transport Cycles, Philadelphia. Simons web address is www.hanfordcycles@gmail.com, and Rudi can be found at rudimayr@gmail.com.

I'm sure either Simon or Rudi can tell you what's possible. I sort of assume if your saddle is out of warranty but the top is good that it can be transferred to another frame.

I had the same issue a few years back and contacted Brooks.   They put me in touch with one of the names listed and the quote for the repair was for just slightly less than the price of a whole new saddle.

I contacted Brooks England after my saddle's frame broke last year and they put me in touch with Simon Firth in PA (contact info posted two replies up). He replaced the undercarriage for less than a new saddle would have cost and did a great job.

  I have fixed a couple.  Parts and labor would probably run around eighty dollars. I would have to double check to be sure.

Thanks Owen (assuming you are Owen). I thought you might be a candidate. Clare and I exchanged emails yesterday. $80 is almost what I paid, but it is such a nice ride, and new ones take a while to get that way.
