The Recyclery Collective: The Recyclery Collective is an educational bike shop that promotes sustainability by giving access to tools, skills and opportunities for collaboration.

Job Description: The Bookkeeper takes care of cash received and accounts payable, keeps accurate financial records, and produces financial reports to aid organizational decisions. In addition, this position may work with other staff and the collective to assist in a variety of tasks and projects furthering our mission. They will work 10 hours per week. The position starts at $15 per hour. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial (10 hours)

  • Record sales receipts
  • Prepare and make bank deposits
  • Pay bills (rent, utilities, phone, insurance, etc)
  • Record debit card expenses (QBP, gas, etc)
  • Pay and file sales taxes
  • Record received inventory
  • Process payroll and reimbursements
  • Prepare and file state and federal 990s
  • Work with Treasurer to prepare quarterly financial reports for collective
  • Prepare other financial reports as needed
  • Maintain accurate records by filing documents
  • Improve efficiency of procedures



Working with the Collective: The Recyclery is run by a Collective which meets twice a month to decide issues impacting the direction of the organization and operates using a consensus process. The Admin Coordinator is encouraged but not required to attend these meetings.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Able to analyze and summarize complex information
  • Experience with Quickbooks or similar accounting software
  • Experience with Google Sheets and Google Docs
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks independently and as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic, ability to self-motivate, and a willingness to ask for assistance
  • Interest in furthering the mission of The Recyclery and upholding our safe space guidelines
