For odd folks maybe? I think I might qualify. Richard Thompson is at or near the top of my want to see list, I'd go see BD, and I've seen the other two. I'm hoping to see RT in Iowa City, anyone want to go?
What's odd about that lineup? My idea of an odd lineup would be something like Mumford and Sons, Why?, and Creed.
I saw BD once, don't need to see him again. Same for Wilco. Zzzzzz
Yes! me too. But I don't have the patience for seeing shows at large venues at all anymore - unless it is a free show at Millennium Park or something where my investment is minimal. Give me a garage punk show at the Mutiny by a band I've never heard of and I'll probably enjoy it more than seeing my favorite band at Toyota Park.

Yes, I've been wanting to see Richard T myself. But would much prefer a real 2-hour show over a 30-minute set where he's treated like filler between bigger name acts.
I agree. The lineup doesn't seem odd at all. All these acts have roots in uh, the roots of american folk and blues - except perhaps for Richard Thompson. I don't know what his roots are, but most of his stuff with which I am familiar has a folk element to it.

After seeing Richard Thompson's "Power Trio" (they covered "White Room") Friday night, this show is actually tempting me now.....
Richard Thompson comes to the area regularly. i've seen him at DuPage College a couple of times. Good times.
Dylan i wouldn't walk across the street to see. Wilco i wouldn't mind seeing sometime.
$77 for tickets (including $15+ "fees" -seriously???) at an outdoor venue in JULY (read hot-as-hades)...yeah, no.
He's doing some solo acoustic shows in other parts of the country, but nothing scheduled close by.
Really my post was an excuse to gloat over seeing him for free and being able to walk right up to within 10' of the stage to watch.
