Blackstone Bicycle Works loses 400 bikes in a fire, needs financial help

We just posted this blog on our site.

Copied/pasted here, too:

We just learned the sad news that our nonprofit friend, Blackstone Bicycle Works, lost 400 bikes in a fire over Labor Day weekend. The Hyde Park Herald current issue has the full story.

Blackstone Bicycle Works, housed at the Experimental Station in the Hyde Park and Woodlawn neighborhoods, is one of several local youth bike education nonprofits that works hard to offer bike services and
education to kids and neighbors in underserved communities.

While a donation is the simplest way to support the program, I would suggest making a visit to the shop this month and purchase an item or three.
I've written a check for a donation. Not sure if I'll be able to get down to the shop.

Also, make sure that you include a note with your check that it is for Blackstone Bicycle Works.
Blackstone is a great neighborhood institution, I'd really encourage people to write a check or, better yet, ride down to Hyde Park (with some money) and see what they're about.
