For those not swapping, chilli gorging, retreating, giving up, giving in, laying low, hiding out, hanging around, or otherwise doing nothing special tomorrow, Saturday January 21, there is a bicycle ride tomorrow in Edgewater.
Gleefully it will be a snow ride which by the laws of something known as "Lee's Tour Weather Factoring", it could end up around twelve feet of snow between the hours of 1:00 and 5:00. As I said above, Awesome.
Oddly, this Edgewater tour starts in adjacent West Ridge at Emmerson Park which is just over the other side of Edgewater. This, I confess, was a goof since discovered, but never changed. Heck, I've done it before, and I will do it again, plus, you get to see a wee bit of the West Ridge for free!
Just bike over to 1820 W Granville, look around for a metric-ton of other people on bikes (at least like....four of us) and get ready to get your architectural fetishes satisfied, your toes frosty, your future Chicago history trivia knowledge enhanced, your fleeting sense of youth gently appeased or your renewed vigor for winter exercise that hasn't quite made it to the broken resolution week. Yet.
We'd love to see you.
The ride costs $10 or a buck off registering online through the Chainlink page. Find out the score right here.
Cheers - Lee
