A good list, but it's the "Chicago Stolen Bike Registry," not the Chicago Bike Stolen Registry.

Rachel, by virtue of jumbling the name and not linking you've left the reader with no way to know what or where the Chicago Stolen Bicycle Registry is.

Is it possible to include the link "http://stolenbike.org?"

Also-- we get 10-12 new report on an average summer day-- I don't think we really want everyone who reports a bike stolen on the CSBR to come to chainlink and start a thread for it?  Presently it's tolerated, but it definitely drags this forum down on days that half of the discussions visible on page one are such postings.

- Go to Swap-O-Rama: The place where a good percentage of stolen bikes are taken to and sold for very little cost at all. You may not be able to convince the vender that it is your bike, but the price you have to pay to get it back is nothing compared to the strife you go through having to purchase a new one.

Ugh.  Please please please don't recommend that people buy their bikes back.  It's NEVER necessary to do so and it rewards thieves and hurts all of us.  I have detailed info I could have given you on what to do at Swap O Rama if you would have researched this article rather than just cut and paste from various websites.

Is there any way I could convince you to take this article down until we've had a chance to talk?

You can contact me or Kevin via info@stolenbike.org

Thanks Rachel for mentioning The Chainlink too as a resource.

When we tweak/redesign the site we will most likely have a dedicated space for talk about your stolen bike (with reminders everywhere to post on the chicago stolen bike registry).    Or at least that's my idea for now.

+1
